60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.

60 Minutes has won every major broadcast award. Its 25 Peabody and 150 Emmy awards are the most won by any single news program. It has also won 20 duPont-Columbia University journalism awards. Other distinguished journalism honors won multiple times include the George Polk, RTDNA Edward R. Murrow, Investigative Reporters and Editors, RFK Journalism, Sigma Delta Chi and Gerald Loeb awards.

60 Minutes premiered on CBS September 24, 1968. Bill Owens is the program’s executive producer. The correspondents and contributors of 60 Minutes are Sharyn Alfonsi, Anderson Cooper, John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and L. Jon Wertheim.

It's heart breaking when you realize there's 400, 000 stories like this. 😔

That is a lot to digest. Thank you, Emerick, for sharing your story and allowing the memory of your mother to become a face to the thousands lost from this pandemic. God be with you.

This guy is barely older than I am and has gone through so much. I can’t imagine having to bury my mom and he had to do it alone. What a guy, you are stronger than I

A bright, articulate, and courageous young man, Emerick will come to terms with this deeply sad loss. He has had to grow up very quickly, and his frank interview reflected how determined, tenacious, and capable he is. Certainly, in times of profound anguish and uncertainty, we all need our friends, good acquaintances, and neighbours to support and guide us. I am confident that Emerick will manage. He has already succeeded in my book.

When he said ‘Covid made you an orphan’ I lost it. EVERYONE who is anti vaccine and doesn’t take Covid seriously needs to sit down and explain that to this poor child.

Idk who this guy is but no young man deserves to have their best friend and mother pass away due to government failure

For those of you who have not had covid. Stage 1: You start running out of breath doing normal activities. Stage 2: You find yourself having to mentally tell yourself to breathe and are scared to fall asleep. Stage 3: You are a fish on a dock. Your body goes into convulsions and you are paralyzed trying to find your next breath. And unless you have someone near you or are holding your cell phone, you can't dial 911. Stage 4: Heart arythmia. Stage 5: 23 days in hospital with a bill of $440, 000. And to all you hater's. I am a 6'2", 190 pound, non smoking construction worker who has inhaled alot of concrete/drywall dust over 25 yrs. Who was never educated on the dangers of that or covid. God bless you Emerick for sharing your story.
