Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula)

Ducks are divided into two groups, ie. surface feeders and diving ducks. Goldeneyes belong to the latter group. Goldeneyes dive to feed on molluscs and crustaceans. Distinguishable features include yellow eyes and a white spot beneath the eyes (adult male).
Goldeneyes are medium-sized ducks (length up to 50 cm) and weighing between 600 g and 1.2 kilos.
