The United States has anchored a temporary floating pier off the coast of Gaza to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged strip. The pier will allow aid supplies to be offloaded from ships and then transported to the shore, where USAID and the UN will manage distribution. US President Joe Biden announced the plan for the pier in March as aid deliveries were being restricted via the roads.
