Firefighters Rescue Woman From Fourth-Floor Balcony Amid 2nd Alarm Fire In Newport Beach

02.26.2019 | 11:53 PM | NEWPORT BEACH - A woman who's apartment caught fire after an apparent explosion had to be rescued from her fourth-floor balcony, late Tuesday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a woman screaming her apartment was on fire at the Park Newport Apartments in the 4200 block of Park Newport around 11:53 PM.
Crews arriving on scene found a four-story apartment building with heavy smoke showing from fourth-floor apartment and a woman on the balcony.
Firefighters used a truck ladder to rescue the woman from her apartment while additional resources extinguished the interior fire.
The 57-year-old woman was treated on scene before being transported to OC Global Medical Center with facial laceration and smoke inhalation.
Officials are on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
