Why does it work? Because people are just that good. It is our advertising-driven commercial media model that has led us all to think it should be otherwise. I've been boasting for decades that the best three things online were invented in San Francisco: Craigslist, Google, and Wikipedia.

It was on Al Jazeera World about a year ago. Or maybe as long ago as winter 2015. The Algerians of New Caledonia.

Hey, Wikipedia, ask Al Jazeera to put up a page on the Algerian/French population of New Caldelonia, the remnants of French prison populations (Algerian men battling French colonization of their country) who survived their sentences and were given a plot of land, a wife from the women's prison (some were women from the Paris Commune), and allowed to start living a free life again. This was a long time ago, at the time France colonized Morocco. All descendants identify as Algerian, and remember exactly where their families came from in Algeria. They are called the "Pioneers." There should be a Wikipedia page on this. Maybe there will someday be a New Caledonian womens' anger management and conflict resolution commission to help Paris civilize its attitudes toward its own Muslim citizens, who are still a problem for them.

Wikipedia is fine, but on certain pages it has people always watching.
When it comes to financial cartels, etc... you find very little although I am sure there is more information out there.
