Nice review. I have this bag and I contacted peak design to ask to purchase an extra shoulder strap that they put on the smaller duffle. They sent me one and it is great to use as a shoulder carry.

have this bag. love it. it's my go-to bag for road trips, camping, or any time I need extra space. much better product than most duffles at this price. I don't normally use it on the airplane, but as long as I under pack it a little bit, I've had no problem getting into the overhead.

I love your reviews. I'm been watching them lately and more so since I had to evacuate for Hurricane Ida (down in Louisiana). I've been trying to figure out a giant bag to get the hell out of town with. I ended up being packed into two backpacks, one carry on suit case, one small hard case, and a sling.... to basically jam my life into. I took up far too much room in my trunk as I had to evacuate my parents and my brother. I was digging the monarc, but this big I'm torn! I've been swapping around bags for years. Started with BOOQ (RIP!), moved to nomatic, and now I'm about to give the Alpaka Bravo Sling Max a try. I've never put much thought into larger bags to basically bug-out or evac with. Keep up with the options! I have (hopefully) a few months till next hurricane season.

so... If you have the 35l duffel as well you can borrow the strap from that 😉... so we have this bag ... used it for a car trip to lego land and Cornwall... Great bag with all the families "stuff" in it for daddy to lug. we purchased it for a planned bus trip to London to see King tut... where I would have to drag all the stuff around for 5 hours in London before the return leg. we also planned to use it on the eurostar trip to Disney land Paris... both didn't happen due to covid 😭... but still have the bag and it will cover off many more trips of this type... probably not a bad.. "I'm going back to uni now" bag as well... thinking forward here for the kids... so I'm summary we see it as a car, train, coach type travel pack (not air) where there is a need to lug stuff around before checking in etc.

Hi, I am subscribing because I cannot listen to anything slower than 1.25 and the "Aaron speaks clearly, you can set it to 1.5 speed" tip validated me and I'm here for it. also, great view and I liked the beat and energy of the review. Very useful! Looking forward to get this bag.

So I ordered a shoulder strap from peak design for my bag. It is a beautiful bag...

Enjoyed this review. As an overly-opinioned end user, this duffel absolutely DOES NOT NEED a single shoulder strap! Additionally, I might argue that carrying the duffel via the dual shoulder strap handles is superfluous, especially when there are already two perfectly good handles on either side of the bag. The mod I would make: an easily-placed criss-crossed bungie cord might be more effective for carrying things on the outside of the bag (you had a yoga mat), rather two straps attached in a cross-wise manner. I like the materials and attention to detail of this pack, but hate when pack manufacturers try to invent problems to solves rather than pursuing absolute simplicity. KISS!

It's funny the video points out you can speed up to 1.5. I always watch these videos on 1.75 and still can understand everything. Props.

Love all your vids, of course, but I'm picturing you doing this behind the counter of an upscale luggage store in your tank with all the ink: priceless! 😎😱👍

I ended up getting the 35l peak duffel and I already have the 45l travel backpack from them. I considered the 65l but it feels more backpack than duffel to me and I was looking for a duffel. Also, the 35l duffel seems much larger than 35l, more like 45l so it fits everything I need.

Great review! Does it at least have attachment points for a shoulder strap? It's an awful omission considering the price :/

Does anybody know this bag can be taken in as a carry on? If you put gears in it, obviously you don't want to check this type of bags in.

Does it have a laptop sleeve? Does it have a tech org section? I have the tortuga 35L duffel and thinking about upgrading to this

i've been thinking of a duffel for road trips, no air travel. large enough to throw all my luxuries into a bag. backpackable would be nice, but secondary. i def need something more than 40L as my current farpoint hasn't been cutting it for that purpose. this might work since it's a 45L expandable to 65L duffel to adapt to what i need. is this the only duffel that does something like that? or maybe are there other good alternatives in this size range, not necessarily expandable, as i probably won't fill it to 65L, probably.

Can I take this on a plane as a carry on?

This has many great features, but somehow, they all end up looking awkward altogether. This is more of a backpack than a duffel. This is especially obvious when carrying it as a duffel.
