since objects throws typically lose speed, they will go slower and slower, so if they're going slower than puffball, she can now overtake the knives.
again this doesn't make sense since knives will also go down and they're somehow staying up

I'd consider this an error on BFB 15's part, since BFDIA established Needle's lack of fire resistance first. That, or Needle is immune specifically to lava and not fire, which makes no sense but i can see the writers establishing that.
