Single Turbo Vs Twin Turbo - What's Better?

Today were at Driver Motorsports looking at a GT-R with a twin turbo set up. The twin turbo looks cool as hell, but is it actually better? #cars #turbo #cars

Bult for 1200, only running 700... Sounds like a smart guy, keeping it comparatively low-stress. Itll probably hold that 700 reliably for a few thousand miles

"The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long." Just because it can handle 1200hp doesnt mean it has to. Love to see a function & show built as 1. Takes a lot of time and money for that to be accomplished.

Even tho it runs around at 700 it would be nice to have a big red button that gives you 1k just for fun . Then back down to a comfortable 700

Let’s throw in a big single turbo and stretch the volumetrically efficient power band and move it all the way to the right then have it all hit at the last 1000 rpm’s left before limiter… god knows low to mid end torque + mechanical grip is overrated 🙄

I certainly like the idea of over building the engine and limiting it on purpose. There's plenty of power and it'll last longer, probably.

It's not about having anything spilled in the car, it's about there being an open container

Single turbos are much more drivable and better throttle response.
Also easier to fit a large single in an engine bay when chasing a big number.
Less to go wrong too.

This chap just wanted to keep it looking the way nissan made it.
