Homeschooled my daughter from second grade through high school. Taught her to be an independent learner as a teen. Now she is about to complete her residency in Veterinary Anesthesiology at Texas A & M.

We homeschooled our son middle school through high school. Loved it! My son is graduating college this week and I'm so proud of him! If you get the chance and it works for your family, it can be a wonderful family experience.

I didn’t like being homeschooled K-8th. I’m extremely extroverted. But high school? Amazing. I slept late, I did my school independently, I went to work and made money while my friends were confined to a desk at school and I traveled with family and had all the free time and social life I wanted. It also made college so much easier - I already knew how to be fully independent in my learning. So many of my peers struggled that freshman year not having anyone guide them thru every single step.

My “third grader” is learning Intro to Chemistry and 5th grade math with Geometry. He gets super bored in public school. Once he gets beyond my ability as a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, I will hire tutors to go in depth with his love of Math and Science. My husband and I were both gifted in many subjects, but never allowed to move up to grades which suited us more. I have a friend whose daughter graduation high school when she was 13 years old. As a nineteen year old, she already runs her own business as a swim instructor.

My kids were homeschooled from 2nd grade to graduation. They faced the whole “but, what about socialization, what about prom, what about the‘senior’ experience… etc. they turned out to be great people.

Going to a public or private high school may be great for some but I was the lucky one who didn’t get stuck with their spring midterm grades after spring break in 2020 and got to go to junior prom in person the next year inside and not on the football field. Being homeschooled in high school was great and besides many people telling me otherwise I’m now about to finish my first full year in college at a large public state university, and I am no longer living at home or even in the same town as my parents

Why in the world would you put them back in? We made that mistake with one, we won’t make it with the last. Nope nope nope!

I was homeschooled kindergarten-4th grade. I did all of middle school public school even tho i had to wear a mask most of it because covid happened in 6th grade for me. I did 9th grade and I'm going to be sophomore now and I want to do homeschooling again, because each year the students get worse and worse. 20+ teachers are leaving and the vice principal and principal. I'm just sick of everything at school. Also we get so many threats each year that I just want to home school rest of high school.

it's amazing in the sway of homeschooling the last 5 years. before it was rare, unheard of. And many thought it was a way to let kids do whatever they want. Not true at all... well to a degree. Homeschooling is the way to go.

I hear this often. As of lately I have received an overwhelming amount of support, though! Lots of people are starting to think it's BEST to homeschool. Less rebuttals than pre-cv19.

Yeah. I heard a lot these questions recently “when are you going to put kids back to public school?” AND “you are going to put them to high school, right?” I am like “huh? Why? I am totally able to help them through high school.”

My mom sent my siblings to high school, but my mom is, like, 99% sure she is going to homeschool me through high school. My brother had made some recommendations. One main thing is doing comm college throughout it. Probably one of the only reasons my mother will homeschool me.

We are unschoolers and I have worked with hundreds of unschooling families who have successfully graduated their high schoolers. It can definitely be done easier than most think!

That was my exact answer when people asked me that same question about my son 😂

I just let my children do 2 months in a public school after homeschooling for 3 years and I knew that if I did stick with it, I was going to pull them out after 5th grade because middle school and high school are so TOXIC. While attending the school they asked to be homeschooled every week until I finally pulled them out. The reason.... apparently making all those new friends wasn't worth the pressure they were under. They'd rather only be around other children for a couple hours a day, not all day. So glad for Co-Ops.

We homeschooled 7-12 grade, and he skipped 9th (we tested just once a year to cover the legal credits from the system and he was so ahead, we went on to tenth grade work from eighth).

8 siblings and myself. All graduated with a diploma at age 16 from home.
At age 16 you are allowed to attend college for your AA as well through most running start programs. No need to waste your time in sending them to high school.

Nope. Because, at 16 (or earlier) they can start taking college classes (concurrent/dual enrollment) which are either free (tuition paid for by school district) or super cheap… Brigham Young University-Idaho Concurrent enrollment classes only cost $35/credit hour!

Or, they can learn a trade and start apprenticing early ❤
