The Way to Egremni Beach, Lefkada (Lefkas), Greece, 2019

Lefkada (Lefkas) is an island that belongs to the Ionian Sea in Greece (northwesterly of Greece). Lefkada is known for its beautiful beaches. Egremni Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of this wunderful island. Egremni Beach is situated on the west coast of the island and is about 40 km away from the capital town also called Lefkada. There was an earthquake in winter 2015. The street and the steps to Egremni Beach were completely destroyed. The street is rebuilt but still under construction. You can reach Egremni Beach on the sea route or you can take a walk and climb last meters (also watch out video: Walk from Egremni Beach and Egremni Beach). If you decide to walk, I recommend to wear hiking shoes.

Seriously, how can you dislike this video? This place is mind blowing, I've been here this summer, but I wasn't lucky enough to see the water in this condition, however it deserves a spot on the top beaches in the word imo. I can't even imaginate a better beach than this one

Thank you for this video! I was on a holiday in Lefkada at the same time but they told me Egremni was only accessible by boat, which I see is not the case. I was so lucky to visit this beach in 2014, one year before this dramatic earthquake. This is positively the best beach in Europe - I've been to a lot and I've never seen anything like it :)

I was wondering why there are 5 dislikes. But now I know. First of all, Egremi and her waters outside of Greece you won't find anywhere in the world. But then I thought, why 5 dislikes. Well. Either jealous people stumbled upon your video, or the more likely scenario that Greeks know how incredible this beach is and it is only approachable by boat (as far as I know). So a new road would make this beach accessible and would also mean that it may be prone to real estate and so on and exploit the beaches economically.

If you look at Porto Katsiki (another great beach) people have to pay 10 euro's parking costs. Even if you would be there 10 minutes. So I just park my car somewhere without costs and then walk a bit more. But I hate this, and frankly the people doing this can fall over for all I care, as in the last 10 years I have been to Greece 40+ times or so to various parts of the mainland and islands, and hardly if ever have I seen a place with parking costs, let alone such costs. So I hope this nonsense is not happening to Egremi. Because if it is, I wonder who the egoist is to claim the parking spot as his own.

Which hotel is closest to this beach and how much does it cost to go there by boat?

I have doubts that this road will ever be *reasonably* safe. You can already see cracks in the road base in many places, landslides coming from the side of the road etc. I think it is only a matter of time until the hilside precipitates again into the abyss. Unfortunately. They should organise taxi boats from Vasiliki (strangely, seems that there are none from Agios Nikitas), but to travel a few times a day, instead of those 3-4 big boats that come all at once with hundreds of people that stay 1 or 2 hours and leave in haste, to visit another 5 places the same day.
