The BEST Golf Advice You’ll Ever Receive (Legend John Daly)

Essentially, what we want to do is to…

Get really good at one shot. Learn it inside out. Our tendency and our miss. Then we can use that to strategize better on the course

That doesn’t mean that we can’t practice other shots, but getting good or at least the best we can at one type of shot whether it’s a draw or an fade will yield dividends on the course!

If you know you can hit the hole, then you know. Practice hitting the hole! Great Advice!!!!

What great advice! But one also needs to work on their weaknesses and eliminate them. You might be long off the tee, but if your wedge sucks, you're going to have a lot of unnecessary bogies.

This advice has been said many times. You have to have a go to shape that’s prettY reliable.

Very true. First 10 (ish) years golfing i had a fade. When i missed, it was a slice, otherwise within 20ft-30ft. Problem, Tiger Woods began golfing, and i wanted to be long and shape shots like him.

Was able to shap shots left and right, 300+ drives, 225 3 iron... problem. When i missed, it could be a draw, a fade, slice, hook. There was never a "safe" play. I went from a spray that started 10 yards left, to 40 yards both ways.🤦‍♂️

I would love to have that consistent miss again.😢

Why would anyone take golf advice from a 9th alternate that won the US Open and is a major player....probably because he knows what he's doing on a golf course. I've had the awesome pleasure of seeing him play in his prime, an absolute master.

Nicklaus would aim 10 feet left of a flag. If it went straight he had 10 feet. If he cut twice as much as he wanted he had 10 feet the other side. The thing I've always tried to do is have a cut and not a slice. 2 different animals.

genius words of wisdom = don't use your 2 iron if you can't hit your 2 iron

The fairway is only 30yd wide if you try to hit the middle. Aim left and hit a fade and the fairway is 60yds wide.

Case in point: Jordan Spieth would probably have won the 2016 Masters if he'd just hit his natural draw and not tried mixing it up with fades. His attempted fades were generally disastrous, resulting in ugly slices that left him short and way right of the target.

When he got to the 12th hole on the last day, he attempted another cut and - you guessed it - it resulted in another horrible slice and the ball ended up in Rae's Creek.

He finally got the message and didn't attempt another fade for the remainder of the round ... not even for his tee-shot on the 18th.

Great advice except for the fact that most people who play the game don't know from one shot and one club to another what the ball is going to do once they hit it! There's a lot of bad swings out there!

I have tendencies but wouldn’t say I have a shot. I can rarely make any ball do anything on command. Or I’d just hit the sum beech straight everytime 😂

You have to have a predictable ball flight

Why would anyone take any bit of advice from someone like John Daly? Oh, I forgot, then there's Donald Trump. Hm.

Realistically you could never touch a wood or driver again if you can hit your irons well. That being said hitting a 1 iron is hard as fuck and i don't recommend it but you could go with that if you wanted
