The Jam had such a great distinctive sound. I remember seeing a town called malice in the early days of mtv and how cool it seemed. Mod Pizza Radio plays the Jam pretty frequently.

I remember getting slagged for liking the Jam as they were not "punk" ..imagine my surprise in 79/80 when my Punk mates turned Mod and Rude Boy...i was was lucky i was brought up on soul motown r&b the beatles the Who...ska...i didnt need to turn anywhere else except where I was....

It was recorded in the very same studio than The Cure first album. To save money The Cure went recording after The Jam had finished their sessions.
