Salzburg, translated as "Salt Fortress" is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. It is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps, being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

Among the notable citizens of Salzburg was the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the composer Johann Michael Haydn, Roland Ratzenberger, the Formula One driver and King Otto of Greece.
