Lol I told my maths teacher that the book I have is so useful but she doesn't know I'm using it actually as a weight for my pearler beads

Haha, I feel like I'm learning more from the comments than the actual video. I really wanna be making these things now.

I talked with a lady once who only ironed her projects on one side. She ironed on the opposite side of the one she was going to use to display them so that the front always looked smooth, clean and not melted.

U shouldn't use wrinkled paper if ur fully melting the lines will show in the beads

so you made a tutorial on how to do the beads "perfectly" but then in the video you messed up and said not to do it the way you did it?

Tbh it when I move my iron In circles, it ruins my project but when I just put it still in one spot it works fine. Just a suggestion xd this works for me, but probably doesn’t work for everyone so don’t think this is the “Correct way” to iron the beads. Good luck!

Thank you so much! Great video! I’ve been using parchment paper for a while now and thought all this time that I was doing it wrong.

Why are so many comments about melting and burning things? Do you just put the iron on full and leave it on there for an hour? start at low temp and ramp it up slowly if it doesn't work.
I guess the fully fused 'square' style is a personal preference? I like mine the best when they're fused at the back, but the front is still nice and unmolten.

Loving the fact that you own a book on Greek mythology. ;D

Way too much heat, you don't want the holes to close. You want them to shrink only slightly and stay uniform across the whole design. The goal is to melt the perler beads together, not destroy the shape of the beads. I tend to use a medium heat and go in slow even circles. The tip of the iron is where heat is focused, so only use that if you have a really stubborn bead that's refusing to fuse to the one beside it, and only use that tip on the edge of the bead to melt it to the adjacent bead (avoid the holes).

Be patient, you can't rush art if you want it to be nice, and follow these tips. Your perler creations will look so much better.

Fellow Moonie, this video is a life saver! I kept getting impatient and taking the paper off while it was still warm because I wanted to be sure I did it proper XD I ran into the problem of curving, too. Thanks so much!

I did my first one and I'm happy.
I have a cheap $7.50 Steam Iron that I bought from Kmart and it worked. At first I had it on a medium setting but I came to this video and since she said on the max I did exactly that and it worked.
It failed the first 2 times so I had to keep repairing it. Did the little Minecraft creeper head as my first one.

I tried to iron my very first project the other day and the beads wouldn't fuse together, so I came here for troubleshooting and- I have the exact same iron! So that answers my question perfectly lol I learned other good tips as well so thanks!
