Y'all don't understand the American award shows.
The judges are very insignificant. All those shows are about the politics of the industry.
The winners are decided almost before they are even nominated. It's all about $ between each organization and the CEO of the agency and way at the bottom of the barrel are the artists.
Why do you think Taylor Swift left for so many years? Yes, she had problems fighting in court cuz she did not know that her music was not hers but owned by the recording agency she had a contract with. She was always beating out all the other artists and as great as her skills are she knows when work from other artists is better than hers. She began questioning and when she found out what was going on she began pulling out of the competitions and making it so the other artists won the competitions. She resumed participating about 2 years ago and once again always wins but she is in full control now.
So the Grammys or any other American Academy Award show does not need BTS, with or without BTS The Grammys will always exist.
However, it is prestigious to reach Grammy nominations, and the more the better.
Grammy "nominations" alone are huge successful accomplishments.
So, it's different from the Korean awards and very prestigious. Thank you
