This song makes me teary-eyed. The way he sings "glory daaaa-a-a-ays" with such melancholy in his voice is such a powerful contrast to the happy tone of the song. Meaningful on many levels. The whole thing reminds me of old lonely veterans, for some reason. :(

I've got my last day of High School coming up (Australians graduate in October) and this song is perfect for the occasion. I know I sound naive, but I reckon even when I'm old and grey, I'll look back on my teenage years as the best days of my life. This song makes me reflect on the times I ditched class to go swimming in the river with friends, got a shit tone of detentions, got drunk for the first time (disaster), developed my passions, made friends (and enemies), and met the most incredible people. I'm yet to properly experience life in its entirety, but these last few years really have been special. Thank god for The Boss.
