Mark asks Clarke for his side of the story since he’s memorized Margo’s version. Clarke admits he was a rotten father and that Mark was probably better off without him. Clarke is pleasantly surprised to learn his son would still like to explore a relationship with him. Ridge defends Brooke attending Taylor’s funeral, but Brooke accedes to Jack’s demands and leaves. The family says good-bye to Taylor with her daughters singing a special song in their mother’s honor.

Good thing Brooke had the sense to leave. Bc you know her inappropriate self was going to act like the most grieved and then go to the front of the room and start talking about Taylor like they were friends....

Taylor being able to come back from an on screen hospital death followed by an _open casket funeral_ was really a "jump the shark" moment for the show. It sent the message that no death, no matter how unambiguous it seemed at the time, is necessarily permanent because it can always be retconned later, which ch eap ens the whole concept of a character dying on the show. It is similar to what happened with Ridge's paternity, another retcon that undermined the entire premise of the show. These so-called shocking twists have an unwanted side effect - they show that every single thing that happens on the show, every relationship, every paternity, every death, can be erased and rewritten just like that. It breaks the trust between the viewers and the writers, and lowers the stakes.

When Taylor did come back, it wasn't even as herself. She had been transformed into a completely different (and poorly written) character. If Taylor had been allowed to actually stay dead in 2002, her death scene would have been up there with Caroline's in terms of poignancy. Instead, when we think about Taylor's second death now, we associate it with the ridicuIous way it was rewritten into Taylor yet agan being held captive by Omar while Ridge unknowingly buried a mannequin.

The rendition by Steffy and Phoebe coupled with the montage was such a tear jerker.

I actually found the scene with Clarke and Mark touching. Clarke shows some real insight and character growth here, acknowledging what a bad father he was back in the day, and showing that he has grown since, after he became a part of CJ's life.

Brooke, asks, what has she done, really? Taylor and Brooke were never friends. In a way, it's too bad that Brooke didn't stay, as she could hear what Stephanie and Ridge thought of Taylor. Wow, Ridge said Taylor was his soulmate. Ridge & Taylor was the adult relationship; Brooke & Ridge were like high school. Several years later, they killed Phoebe
