She's that friend who copies your outfit.

But on the other hand she doesn't discriminate against people of colour, rip people off or torture animals.

I think she does know right from wrong you know!

My big thing with Revolution is that I grew up poor. For most of my adult life I’ve been on minimum wage. I get that copying completely is gross but some people don’t have the choice or privilege of being able to choose the more expensive brands that Revolution dupe. You got this video right on the nose.

I think brands rip us off all the times so why not let them rip each other off lol

All I care of when it comes to beauty brands and their products is:
- price
- shade range
- cruelty free
- good quality

Revolution is my favorite make up brand and I started to buy some of their skincare products because my favorite The Ordinary products are always sold out here in Germany.

On the other hand, Revolution Beauty plays a role to shake these high end brands in a sense that the exact products can be created and sold for much cheaper. People who prefer authenticity will pay the premium, and people who don't want to don't need to! Once big brands lose enough customers for this, they will need to do something to offer more competitive prices. At the end of the day, it's all benefitial for consumers.

Personally I don't buy many products from Revolution Beauty, but I appreciate the competition they bring to the market.

I am in the UK. The reason Too Faced did not sue Revolution is because Revolution did those palettes first.

I know people hate that they copy, but sometimes I can't afford high end products and will only be able to try something similar because of these copy cat companies.

I don’t understand how some people can try and drag this brand and say its shady. But yet they are way more inclusive and its not just for certain groups of people. It is also great quality for being so cheap. And as for being ‘dupes’ I would prefer to pay less for almost identical products, what people don’t realise is that price doesn’t mean better quality it just means prettier packaging and for me it’s going in a drawer and no ones really going to see it.

the brand DID copy the ordinary at first but their most recent products have be ORIGINAL ideas (like the 15% niacinamide, the tonics vitamin C, bakuchiol ect....) people need to stop reviewing their 5 ordinary copies products from 5 years ago bc their recent ones look amazing

Honestly, I don't mind the dupe-y stuff because they're ripping off already giant corporations and providing people with varied options on ingredients, price, and being cruelty-free like you said. Those things matter a lot in what I look for in makeup. Like Urban Decayis huge brand with a big following at the end of the day, it's on them if they don't cater to a lower price point & go cruelty-free. If it was an indie artist they were copying, I'd have a problem. But especially with the cruelty-free approach & attention to diversity, I honestly really love the brand. I'm excited to try their skincare!

This brand (revolution skincare) came out when the ordinary wasn't the most accessible in the UK. It could be found in some department stores and they could be bought online but you couldn't go into a drugstore and buy them. Revolution skincare brought these products into the British drugstore when there wasn't much like it. Now Both the ordinary and the inkey list are sold at boots and Superdrug has its own line of serums. Also, it is the law for British companies to have a section on modern slavery on their website so that is pretty normal (and something all companies should do regardless).

revolution, at least in the uk, sell in stores while the ordinary is only available online outside of london, so that might be part of it

I’ve been using Their palettes for a good time and they are AMAZING, I don’t mind them making dupes. I’m not going to spend 50$ in a concealer ;-; I love them.

The one thing that annoyed me with this video is that you're claiming that Revolution Beauty has gone through different brand names but they haven't??? I Heart Revolution, Revolution Pro, Obsession and Skincare Revolution are all lines under the Revolution Beauty Brand. You have done your research well, but also haven't!

I use quite a few revolution skincare products. I find it much easier to get hold of than the ordinary and the products I have used from them have been awesome.

At least revolution is upfront about duping products. Many influencers and brands steal ideas from smaller influencers (especially people of color) and then play dumb when confronted.

Honestly - Revolution has been a blessing for me. Good makeup and skin care for less than half the price (and cheap shipping). Whilst the ordinary is also cheap on good skin care, revolution is still cheaper and more accessible to me.
