For the memorizing lyric thing, here's something I learned in my psychology class:
A lot of memories need triggers to be brought out of your memory. You can theoretically remember everything this way. However, just because you listened to a song, or played a game, doesn't mean you'll remember it. Not everything you do is made into a long-term memory. This is why you're more likely to remember the lyrics of a song you listen to a lot—repitition encourages memory.
