Man. I remember being so glad when Bionicle came back for G2 in 2015. I knew right off the bat that it won't be ***my*** Bionicle, but it would be someone else's Bionicle, that the legacy would live on.

Too bad it didn't live on for long.

IDK why they made Kopaka the most Gigachad set but I'm certainly not complaining! He's one of my fav Toa builds

One of my biggest gripes with the 2015 versions of the Toa was the complete 180 they did on Pohatu's personality. In the original he was the most friendly laid back Toa to the point that the ice-cold Kopaka considered him his closest friend and actually showed emotion when he thought Pohatu had died. But in the reboot they made him this stubborn tough-guy loner.

kopaka master was my first toa and my second bionicle set (after the lord of skull spiders) and i'm glad to see other people that like him. i personally would have made the silver chest plate white instead but besides that and the fact that the thighs look supers skelltal from the back it's pretty much perfect for me.

Onua is by far my favorite. You forgot to mention his hammer can be turned into shovel claws that brings him even closer to his og version. Also, I love how bulky and jacked he is. I disagree that it makes him too cartoony.

the 2015 Gali mask has the goggles like the original Kaukau but strangely enough I think it carries more traits from the Kaukau Nuva than the original

I have modded Lewa so his head can move more freely.

I changed the grip for Kopaka's shield so it is attached on the side like it suppose to

Never got these. Now I can vicariously live out the rebirth of Bionicle through these videos! A shame that Gali’s trans blue mask was exclusive.

I didn't know they came with stickers, I had a knock-off Kopaka a, and the sticker part was printed

I think these were great. Really liked the new designs and builds. But perhaps they were too good? As in, I think Lego underestimate just how large of a factor in Bionicle's success it was that the Toa were really inexpensive. As a teen I just kept saving my allowance to buy Toa, then Mask packs, then Bohroks. Gen 2 prices were really high for that.

god g2 was done so dirty. lego went all out on awesome sets and then totally fumbled the release. honestly they just needed to have waited a few more years when og bionicle fans had real money and they wouldve been way better sellers. I hope to see a whole video essay on g2 and legos handling of it. super interesting and a big lesson for them
