The PFC requires an isolated output to fit into our UPS. Let’s design the transformer, select some supporting components, and simulate what we’ve designed to ensure it will meet our specifications!

Awesome video. I can't wait to see how this UPS unfolds.

I enjoyed the details of isolation transformer design...mine is probably not up to spec, but I did use a healthy amount of kapton between the primary and secondary. Hopefully it holds up to hipot testing.

Thanks for the tip about SiC diodes...I've been on the hunt for fast diodes lately.

I've been trying to figure out an appropriate snubber lately too...they seem to dissipate an unreasonable amount of power or do too little snubbing. The whole process seems very cut and paste...the few app notes I've read were along the same lines. Do you have any pointers?

I noticed you using the coupled inductor method for your transformer (I use it too)... do you find it sufficiently accurate or do use also use an alternate model? I've seen one that could also model saturation but it was over my head and I don't think the ideal transformer takes enough into consideration.
