It's because you are using the name connect.php it should be login.php or you will have to change it in the html

Hi

$login=$_GET["login"] is being used to check the the if statement. The value of "login" is changed to "yes" when the user clicks the login button (Check the HTML form). So the code will run only when the user has clicked the button.

hmmm u need to add a reset cookie code
anyways for ur error change localhost to 127.0.0.1 and username as root and no password
