NERF RIVAL HYPERION | SNIPER + ASSAULT RIFLE Prototype/Design #rivalweeks

This awesome idea of a RIVAL BLASTER is the work of 2 industrial design students from the International Center of Creativity - Cedarville University, USA.

"So, this project was a school project. Where we were at first assigned to make a proposal of what Nerf should make. Then the professor/instructor chose the ones that he liked and assigned each of us into a group of three. From there Braden Leenerts, Corynn Concepcion, and I (Ye-Chan Jeoung) got into a group. The one that got picked was Braden's proposal to make a SNIPER RIFLEfor Nerf.

We got into a group and started our research and ideation. We found out that NERF guns that were snipers actually sucked and then we found out about the Rival series of guns that were pretty good for our thing. Then after research, we went into ideation sketches to figure out a design that we wanted to go with.

Before going to the next step, there was one condition that was given by the professor/instructor. It was that it should be one hand operable. Sniper rifles are usually not something that you can use with one hand, so we decided that we need to have an automated part in it. So, we decided to make it a sniper and assault rifle combo.

Then we decided to divide what we should each do. I decided to do the 3D modeling and realistic rendering. Braden decided to make the HDF (High-Density Foam) model.

At first, we really weren't making any progress, so I decided to start early with my 3D modeling and get an overall shape. (usually, the steps are brainstorming and research, ideation and form studies, digital sketches/painting, 3D modeling and rendering, and then the final physical model."

It's like a built in masterkey. This would be amazing as an actual nerf product, especially if it was compatible with the rival rechargeable battery pack.

Also if they could work out how to do a "clicky" dual stage trigger you could have just one main grip with a primary/secondary trigger setup: One trigger would be dual stage with 1st click activating flywheels, and 2nd click activating pusher/belt.
Other trigger would be regular 'springer' trigger.

Those are just my opinions.

That actually looks like a very usable and fun blaster that a lot of foam flingers would enjoy playing with. It has the aspect of a tanker with the 40 round full auto blaster (witch could help with this custom mag) but it also has a spring powered bolt rifle i like it Keep It Up !
