02:03 - Employing too much processing on a track
03:30 - Trying to turn a sound into something it isn’t
04:34 - Not paying attention to gain-staging
06:59 - Not paying attention to phase relationships
08:37 - Putting reverb on every track

Izotope Never disappoints, whether It is Plugins or Tutorial/Videos.

If there's one plugin that will never ever ever leave my monitoring chain, it's gotta be Tonal Balance Control and Insight. Don't get me wrong, we should still use our ears and sometimes break rules in order to elevate the artist's vision, but not all of us have properly isolated rooms to mix with, especially me as a beginner, so having a tool to reference to, that gives you solid and unbiased information to work with, it really elevated my mixes to a different level, rather than buying another compressor or eq plugin.

These videos are fantastic. They’re well made, but theyre not watered down. It’s not overwhelming, very good work

I really appreciate the Grand MA lighting console b-roll shots around 4:30. Gave me a chuckle

This is seriously the best mixing tutorial I've seen, regardless of iZotope products. I made them all :)

Tone balance pro has been a game changer for me, especially since I'm mixing solely on headphones.

This was a great video. You got your ads in, but in a good, organic way, and really got into some meat. Really good job guys. Not many VST manufacturers earn my subscription, but you certainly have.

This is excellent for a beginner engineer. My ears are pretty good and I know when I don't like the mix but these "small" tips providing some general guidelines will save me a lot of time that I would otherwise have spent "learning the hard way". Thanks iZotope.

love taking in this kind of training because I either A) review a key basic or B) realize I've been missing a huge puzzle piece
izotope content been really helping NICU move our album forward right now as a full-indie production where I'm songwriting, playing, mixing and mastering all myself in the home studio. appreciate this wealth of awesome info, it makes a big difference to me :)

My favorite go to trap has always been (and sometimes still is) an everything at once approach. I always have to restrain myself. Don’t mix while recording! Don’t master while mixing! And vice versa.

Actually you *did* miss a fairly big one: monitoring too loudly.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This really hits me hard. Thanks, great advice!

Proud to say I made none of these mistakes. What I would add is not saving a 'ground zero' version to revert to if needed

"This goes up to 11", and my number 11 is mixing fatigue/ear fatigue when you have been at it for about 6-8 hours. Then the next day you realise your mistakes, and have to take a few steps back

This is interesting. I have Nectar Pro and the trial version of Nectar 3 PIus. I did the vocal assistant with both and got two different vocals chains.

To my curiosity, I did it a second time and the same thing happened. Two different vocal chains.

My question is this. What’s difference between Nector Pro and Nectar 3 Plus and why do I get different settings from vocal assistant in each one?
