My dm gave my compulsive gambler the mother deck of many things. My character became a god because of that deck at the end of the game

Friend of mine drew Wish out of a deck and spent the rest of the session writing down his wish on 2 pages of paper. Essentially, He wished to have his consciousness sent back in time to the very start of reality, before the Weave was destroyed and reformed, to gain knowledge of all magic. On top of this, he was a lich, meaning he grew stronger as time went on. When the calculations were done on how powerful he had become, he didn’t even have to power word kill the bbeg. He just…gave him a thumbs down and he was blipped from the universe, as was his influence past and present. Meaning the adventurers had their family members back.

The Deck of Many Things becomes the focus of almost any game it shows up in.

My party located and spent considerable resources to steal a deck of many things while we were doing a heist in the hells for plot related items and caused enough mayhem that we had some extra time.
The barbarian and my bard both pulled multiple cards, the rogue and druid drew one.
The Barbarian now has -2 to all saves, had to fight death and is double proficient in persuasion. The rogue gained 10, 000xp. The druid drew 3 wishes. My bard got 50, 000xp, an artifact +2 charisma and a level 4 fighter who is sworn to his 16th level bard, who then became a nearly 18th level bard after the XP Gain.

I threw out the deck of many things for my Deck of Infinity. It ranges from "you get a foot taller" to "You become an intangible force of nature. You may now change any 1 aspect of the world at any time."

Gave my party the Deck specifically so it could used as a power source for a Wild Magic generator to power an Automaton made to fight the God of Entropy.

Had a campaign where we only drew good cards from the deck out of luck, so our characters were sure it was just a deck of amazing things.

I love the good ol Avatar of death. If you can find a way to make one with enough health fight for you, which is difficult granted, they can create devastation of immense proportions on large groups of enemies depending on a few key rulings like if attacking or moving through someone other than its intended target counts as helping the intended target. XD

FUN FACT! If you can get an avatar of death (or a few) into a populated area, and get people to help you, a bunch can spawn really quickly and the chaos can make it really hard to keep track of which one's which, giving this a lot of potential as a weapon

That sounds very interesting. In fact it sounds like the DM placed it in the game specifically for moments like this.

It builds communication amonst team members. Imagine there still only being one if the mage didn't react impulsively 😌
