Why would the Jets trade a beast draft pick that WORKED OUT, for a draft pick (Byfield) that DIDN'T WORK OUT? Unless the J ets are just existing to be big USA markets farm team. Let me know. I didn't get that memo.

Congrats to new Flames Head Coach Ryan Huska----a well-deserved promotion, IMHO. GM Conroy not wasting time putting his stamp on the team. Several more changes are coming in Calgary. PLD just doesn't seem to be a 8Mil+ player IMHO but he probably get it for some team. Whoever pays him that better get some serious production, I'm talking 40 goal, 100 point production numbers.

Thought Dubois had tunnel vision, Habs or bust, but maybe that's changed. Jets would prefer a goalie coming back, but Kings have nothing on that front to offer, so they'd have to seek one out elsewhere to replace Connor H, a very daunting task. That's a lot of projected salary going to LA, who don't have tons of space, but if they want them both bad enough, their GM will find a way. Imagine being traded from LA to Winnipeg... culture shock or what...

from what little have seen, Winnipeg could use defense and puck possession over long term in trade deal with Kings, which like stated are looking near term for veteran players to compete for Cup like Hellyebuck and Dubois

I definitely feel the Kings can be aggressive about adding these two players. The only place Brandt Clarke is going is on the blueline with Gravikov as the second pairing behind Doughty and Anderson. Clarke is going to be a star and the best d-man taken from his draft. But if you're Winnipeg and you're offered Turcotte and Kaliyev for Dubois, who is not going to resign-- how do you say no? And if the Kings give you Byfield for your goalie, again, that's going to be very difficult to turn down. I know there will be more to a package to make the money work and it will probably be Iaffallo whom the Jets have to take, but they could then flip him for another asset or pick. The Kings Defense will be much improved and if they add a lockdown netminder-- that's huge. They need more scoring up the middle, so to get 25-30 from Dubois would be a big improvement. They have a lot of forwards knocking on the door who could be part of a package. Kupari, Fagemo, and others. As you said, they all can't play. They need to thin out the herd and trade for more elite talent. Whatever the combination the Kings have many assets to deal to get what they want.
