As everyone is pointing out, that is a mouse at best. The size of rats usually range from 20-30cm, whereas the common mantis is about 10cm at most. Even the largest species of mantis in the world is only about 18cm.

I had to say this being the owner of three wild mice that actually reached the age of 7 this year.they make wonderful pets and I got very upset watching this.feeding the mantis insects is one thing.feeding it mice is being very cruel.i even had several mantis myself as pets, one of which had dozens of babies in my kitchen no less.i wouldn't ever do that to a mouse.im not judging you but I'm not the kind of person that would do something like that.its wrong.
