i honestly cant tell if ppl are joking, but a slur is a symbol in music which means a set of notes are to be played without separation

Love how your not hard on her, and tell her exactly how to fix her mistake. The way she laughed shows you are a great teacher

For non-musicians: a slur in music makes two notes or more connect to each other making it sound more together/connected (short version: notes played with little to no separation)

Non-musicians not knowing what a slur is in musical terms 💀

I'm a piano teacher and I did my masters in piano pedagogy and performance. I'm a huge believer in feeling the concepts. If you tell them what to do without feeling, it's useless. Children need to feel the rests, rhythm, articulation to be able to get them. Traditional teachers would just tell children to do it over and over again . This causes injury and tension in the long run. This is why getting children away from the piano and just moving, and ingrainging the feeling on there body is so so so important in the very beginning. It's about less talking and more doing. The more they move, and feel it in their body the more they can play with ease when doing. BTW she seems very talented and seems to enjoy the lessons !

I love that she laughs instead of cries/is in fear of failing, because learning something new is trial and error until you get it right, what an amazing teacher ❤️

I quit playing the piano because of a horrible teacher, so it warms my heart to see this ❤️

oh my gosh I love your way of teaching! So wholesome! You can tell you’re a great teacher because she giggles and smiles and genuinely looks like she’s enjoying it! I was a violinist before I quit because my teacher was super harsh, wish I had a teacher that would be as fun as you!!

You’re amazing! My teacher would always make me cry, no, burst into tears and even beat me slightly which is actually really traumatising. After leaving music school I stopped listening to any music by my will for several years. Now I’m a huge music lover tho I still haven’t returned to my piano lessons and absolutely hate it after playing for like 15 minutes.
Kudos to you! and wish all the best to this young lady 👏

This teacher looks very nice and kind. I don't know how traditional piano lessons go but from what I'm seeing the general experience is that people had strict teachers and felt stressed etc? I'm so glad that I never experienced this. I've had a super wonderful teacher for almost a year now and I'm enjoying my lessons. Yes, progress is probably very slow and I'm a pretty grown adult, and my teacher is the same age as me. But still. I'm glad I've had a good experience and that's probably why I'm still taking lessons.
