Wang Yi meet with Lavrov over Ukraine issues, supporting Russia's permanent UNSC membership #unga

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the ongoing 77th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday .

The two sides hailed the recent meeting of China-Russia leaders at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan, and agreed to deepen strategic cooperation.

They also exchanged views on the Ukraine issue. Wang said China hopes that the related parties will not give up dialog, and will strive to address security concerns through peace talks.

Lavrov expounded Russia's position on the issue, stressing that security is indivisible.
