Newly restored! Orson Welles’ takes on one of Shakespeare’s greatest works, directing and starring as the doomed Moor. This film was a labor of love for Welles, with the accent on labor. After the financing fell through, Welles had to scramble to make money playing parts in other people’s films and even then he was only able to get together enough to shoot three or four days here and there. So a film that, under better circumstances, could have been completed in 4 weeks took over 3 years to shoot. But the trouble was worth it. Welles, a brilliant Shakespearean, uses the medium with genius, and gives us a look at new facets of Othello, Iago (Michael McLiammor) and Desdemona (Suzanne Cloutier).

I love this film took orson 3 years to make this as the finances kept falling through. It goes to show you it would been even better if he had the money. Basically genius film, genius man
