What Happened to the Kicker that Missed a Game Winning 27 Yard FG!?(Blair Walsh)

Blair Walsh did miss that kick. However, he also made three other field goals that game to put the Vikings in position to win the game. unfortunately, the Vikings offense on that playoff game couldn’t score a touchdown and relied on Blair Walsh to be four of four on field goals to in order to win. To which he was only three or four.

Zimmer was hard on kickers.. after Walsh there was Daniel Carlson. He missed a game winner at Green Bay one time and zimmer cut him. So he goes to the Raiders where he was the number one scorer in the entire league

Reminds me of Cody Parkey’s Double Doink kick, kicker was at home, one point lead in the Wild Card Round, broadcasted live on NBC, and the only thing that was different but in a way similar, Parkey was up against his former team, the Eagles, as opposed to Walsh who would later join the Seahawks

When that happens, a kicker basically spooks and the pressure is hard to overcome. Lots of kickers lose it after a big choke and never get their accuracy back. To me, it’s like a horse with a broken leg, and We all know just how to deal with that lame horse…
