The old school death metal vibes be different

Man, metal sound has gotten so over produced. Distortion used to leave something behind to create big, full sound.

Now, everything is so tight and controlled, they have to fill in where the distortion used to go with big, booming drums.

It sounds way too controlled. I'm hearing the distortion from the string, but nothing coming along with it. It's too clean and processed.

And I can barely hear the guitar over the drums and cymbals. It's not a good mix.
