Actually, the drone laws in Japan are super relaxed. You only need to register once and then can fly it without extra permissions up to 150m. The usual restrictions apply (not next to people, not in urban areas or around airports). Other countries like Thailand or Egypt are way more restricted by law.

Awesome to see you in Japan dude! Here for a few months too. Don't forget to check out the used camera stores in Akihabara and Harajuku too!

Been to yodobashi, bic camera and mapcamera some 6 times, spending most of my time in Tokyo there and making everyone in my group angry at me. Absolute heaven though :)

I’ve been following your page for a minute and it’s crazy you don’t have more followers. I love you’ve been staying true to sony and original style of videos ❤

I love Map camera. I've never been to Japan, but I've bought several lenses on eBay through them. I agree that their quality evaluations are very accurate and favorable to the second-hand buyer. Great topic idea! Can't wait to visit these stores in person.

I've just come back from Japan. The most important item I bought was the Sony 11mm f1.8. I got it at Map Camera. Later that day, I discovered that the AF didn't work. That's my first time for a new lens. So next day I went back, and they just gave me a new. Great service.

Another thing to keep in mind is warranty support. Your country service center may not warranty products that are bought overseas. No different than grey market goods! So sometimes the savings are not really worthwhile.

I love the deals that I have found in Japan while living there over the years.

Thanks for this video. This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted someone to give us tips on where to look in order to camera hunt. Awesome video, already marked em on my Google maps. Lol

Thank you! Still got my RX1 (the first version) Very nice files. Enjoy! And I got the original OVF for it - used, at a very good price. It is super nice.

Thanks to your earlier episodes I’ve adopted MapCamera as well. Bought A7RIV and A7Siii. Your recommendations spot on. Now that I’ve retired here in Kamakura from Chicago, Japan is a blank canvas opportunity. BTW, your comment about buying used equipment in Japan is right on… Japanese take care of things of value much better. BTW… are you scheduling a meet up? Hope to bump into you one of those days. No… not a stalker, just a fan! My wife(Japanese) thinks I’m obsessed with photography things!

Being a fishing angler and love cameras, I really admire the Japanese culture in both fields. I hope to make it there one day.

MapCamera is my goto place when traveling to Japan. Even the new stuff sometimes is cheaper than in the US, specially Fuji gear.

Man, makes me miss living in Chiba just 12 minutes from Tokyo station on the Keio line local train.... I know of so many ships in Akihabara and towards Ueno just walking that you can find used cameras, hi-fi stereo stuff, computers used in excellent condition and at an unbelievable discount... Then of course, any Yodobasi, Bic Camera from Shinjuku, Akihabara, Ueno. I miss that life, love your channel!!!

I’ve been living in Japan the last 10 years and started my photography business 4 years ago. I have never once bought new items here because can find some great deals on used items and I see no difference 😯
I am always impressed at the standards.
Recently I just bought a whole new set up from Mericari and saved a lot of money 🤩 🤙

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there is software out there that you can use to connect to your RX1R, and enable the other languauges that are already installed on the camera - English being one of them. Software is free, and only takes a few minutes to unlock the extra language options. Not available for all Sony cameras, but will your RX1R is included.
