My mother was unfaithful to my father at a young age. We tried moving on, trying to keep it together, but I could see that my father didn't have love for her anymore, he faked love in front of me because he felt it would have been best for a young child to keep his parents.
At said young age, he continually came up to me and put her down, making me disrespect her. Being the most important figure in my life, I listened to him.
We were supposed to move on from that horrific day. For years I've tried to put my feelings into words. If you look at these lyrics, they can't describe me any better. I feel like I'm Myles Kennedy singing this TO my father.
Now, as a grown man, I feel like if I could have told him to just leave her, all of our lives wouldn't have been filled with so much pain. I have developed a great relationship with my mom as I got older, because I appreciate that she tried to make up for her mistake, but my father NEVER let her live it down, thank you Alter Bridge for giving me something that I can use to finally get what I need to off my chest.

I can't put into words what Alter Bridge songs mean to me and I'm not just talking about how perfect Myles vocals are combined with the guitar and drums, but specially because their songs always seem to find a way to fit in so perfectly with situations in my life. So realistic, so deep, so genuine, and yet so comforting and uplifting. It is without a doubt my favorite band of all time.
