As a Cuban, this is NOT a Cuban shot. A “cubano shot” is Cuban coffee/espresso in a small cup. We SOMETIMES French press it but barely ever do. When you mix the Cuban coffee/espresso with milk, that’s a cafe con leche. But this isn’t even a cafe con leche. I still really like your vids though, just correcting misinformation.

As a coffee machine repairman, NEVER put sugar in your group basket. The heating element is not designed to be exposed to a sticky substance like sugar and will absolutely ruin your machine very quickly.

why not put the brown sugar at the bottom of the portafilter, then add the coffee? seems like that's way safer for your machine...

I feel like theres no need to worry about sugar being stuck near the grouphead since its water soluble, I'd be more worried about insoluble coffee grounds getting stuck in the grouphead, I run my machine without the portafilter in every once in a while just to get rid of excess grounds. brown sugar and espresso is good though!

I agree, I am from Cuba and the Brown sugar goes amazing with it. However, Cuban coffee is famous bc its taste is sweet but strong, good enough to drink it just as an espresso

As a fact, if you shake it dry (shaken without ice) it creates a denser foam that you can put on top of cold milk and it tastes spectacular.
