Moved back to Oz to look after my 98yo Mum after living in NZ for 35 years. I’m so homesick 😢 for Aotearoa

Wow a treasure of a place. I felt so calm watching this. Beautiful people and a beautiful place. The one place as a kiwi I feel drawn to but have never been. Makes me wanna go even more now. ❤

Found a soft top surfboard with no fins, had a few nice clean cool waves. Great diving, bushwalks, birdlife, late night close up kiwi encounters, local characters and ANZAC day. Thanks for having my son Jesse and me Rakiura, Stewie. What an amazing place.

My heart cries when I hear what happened to such ones as my Maori sister here… being pushed away from learning her language but she persevered!🔥 And now she wants to make it so her ‘makubuna ‘ will have Tereo Maori as their first language.. I LOVE THAT❤️… As a KaiViti or a tagata Fenua of Viti🌴 living in Aotearoa now for 7 years, I salute the efforts of my Tagata Fenua cousins here to restore and reinvigorate their language and I wish it all success that they reach a point where they become like us in Fiji, Toga, Samoa etc where it simply becomes their FIRST LANGUAGE and makes stronger their sense of heritage and connections to their Fenua like their “Matua’s” before them … because language is IDENTITY!
