What is assimilation?
Ans: A phonological process in which a speech sound changes and becomes more like or identical to another sound that precedes or follows it.
A significant difference in natural connected speech is the way that sounds belonging to one word can cause changes in sounds belonging to neighboring words.

1) Progressive Assimilation:

Sir, i really appreciate your efforts...you're really teaching awesome!...i have a doubt actually at 13:33, you said in assimilation of place of articulation..alveolar constant 't' becomes 'p'...so this conversion is only valid for alveolar constant |t| or for other alveolar constant as well like for instance |s| with any other bilabial constant like
|p|..??
Same doubt goes for next point u mentioned..where cf is alveolar and ci is velor ...where |t| becomes |k|.?? Again is this valid only for 't' that it will sound like k ...if not then how would other alveolar constant sound like in presence of other non alveolar constant ?!....
