Simply put...Hayao Miyazaki is a one in a million director with a beautiful and captivating imagination and a unique storyteller. There might never be another director like him that can capture the level of film-making he has and the gems he's created over the years.

When I saw The Wind Rises in theaters, I wore my Totoro shirt to honor all of Studio Ghibli's wonderful work.

Thank you, Miyazaki-san. You truly are a master of filmmaking.

I... actually cried watching this. I shed actual tears.

It is also the first and only YouTube ad I have not only watched from start to finish, but then clicked on.

Kudos.

I do not hate Disney, but it is true when it is said that it is overrated, and it is also true when it is said that "Ghibli > Disney" in any sense but budget.

Money, that's the only reason Frozen won the Oscar, and It is not my inttention to make bad fame of Frozen, which actually was a "good movie", but when you think on how the storyline, the character development, the background and the music of The wind rises were, it is just ridiculous to think that Frozen could win. But again, like many other works, the money has the last word... u_u

Words cannot explain how much his love for films has made an impact on me and others out there. Hayao Miyazaki you truly are blessed with this God-given talent! Even if hr's retired, I''ll never get sick of watching his movies. I always end up having a "Ghibli Marathon" and I always end up feeling light-hearted, warm and memorized by his artwork <3

Hayao Miyazaki is such a huge inspiration in my eyes. One of the biggest dreams that I want to fulfil in my life is to become a writer and director for feature films. And if there was one thing that Mr Miyazaki has taught me, it's that you can accomplish anything as long as you put your mind to it.

im japanese. In foreign countries, how much are studio ghibli's movie known by people?
And i think Disney movies express dreams and hopes that many children and adults can understand...
But studio ghibli's movie hove various emotions and backgrounds . so sometimes children cant understand them even if some adults...
When i was 9 years old, i watched ”Spirited Away” for the first time. Then i cant understand the true means of the movie. But i watched it again that when i was 12. I can understand the wonder of love over times and love of family.

Actually i cant write the true wonder of Miyazaki's woks.

I'm not an anime fan, but I really appreciate the works of Mr. Hayao Miyazaki.
It would be an insult to compare his animation with those trashy fast-food animes in the market
