Why does this swap use flywheel and clutch?

I think this channel is way ahead of where we will be in a few years. The conversion industry will be a beast of its own. Great content.

If you heat the hub in an oven it will slide right on. Interference fit is a pain no matter how you do it.

No blowtorch and hammer, much better then some other builders 🙂

I’m in the process of installing the EV West kit on an AC50. Would you mind letting me know what torque you used on the flywheel bolts? Thanks so much!

What can I say about the Hyper9 engine, you can customize any car. Even they can build electric go-karts.😁

Electric motor armature shafts are usually not rated for much of a thrust load. I wonder if the roller bearings in the electric motor have a high enough thrust rating for the thrust applied when the clutch is applied and released.

Saw electric conversion VW bug back in 1978 in San Francisco. I guess this has been around quite awhile.

What about all of the various kit cars which were built on the VW bug platform?

do you have to measure the distance between the bell housing adapter and make it equal to the original motor bell housing?

I would love to have an EV Karmann Ghia. I would also like to have an EV Nash Metro.

Interesting concept. But what's with the Audio? Voice is extremely soft then the rift comes in at Max volume.

@demotors070161 is there a thrust bearing built into the hyper9? I imagine there will be some axial force when depressing the clutch, and I don't see any thrust bearings externally in the set up. Wondering if this has been an issue for you and this build at all?
