China Announces Sanctions On US, UK & Canada's Officials, As World Condemns Its Xinjiang Policy

China announced new sanctions against US and Canadian officials for criticising its policies in the Muslim region of Xinjiang. China has barred US Commission on International Religious Freedom, Gayle Manchin from visiting mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao. Along with Manchin, the sanctions are imposed on the commission’s vice chair, Tony Perkins and Canadian MP Michael Chong.
