There is an age-old argument about which is better NA or Supercharged, while we don’t want to try and solve it, we take a look at the different characteristics of two LS3 cars that took a different path to enhanced performance.

These guys did my ssv ute VF and NA kit exhaust etc and they are awesome guys, plenty of time to show you around and explain everything and the guy tuning in the video (dont know his name) was the guy that did my car and they are all cool and totally professional. I just wish I had more money to step up to the supercharged package, but then Id also need to start budgeting for tyres too.

I have a 2017 Chevy SS sedan aka VFII. I've been on the fence between SC and NA for more than a year. I already have a custom 427 block that can handle 1400hp, but I prefer the sound and grunt of the Harrop Hurricane. It's also a tad more challenging to install on a US left-hand drive. While not near as much bang for the buck; it would be a stand-out compared to SC builds. Aside from bragging rights, I'm not sure I would ever use the TVS2650 to it's potential, because I don't much care for 15-inch M/T's and race modified suspension.

supercharged is better in the real world because you get more torque and the scream noise at higher RPMS
but I would rather have an NA LS3 that can do 9000rpm

I like it! I just dont like somebody’s whining everytime i press the acceleration. And whoever said n/a ( depends what kind of you using engine ) more powerful than supercharged? Commonsense is not very common. Lol

Hi HarropTV, I'm pretty impressed with the Supercharged numbers. A couple of questions. For comparison do you have the dyno graphs from before the modifications? Also, do you know why the torque/power cross over points are not at the same RPM?

Interesting video... I’d be interested in the fuel economy differences between the 2 setups as well as general engine longevity. I’m assuming the boost from the supercharger will strain a factory LS3 more then a head and cam combo.

Nice vid,
However, for the purpose of transparency it would be good if the performance shops (like Harrop)encouraged a trip to the local engineer for certification in order to make them roadworthy.

Good video!What's the difference between your FDFI 2300 and the Magnuson Heartbeat FDFI 2300?With your 2300 kit, you haven't touched the valve train and heads have you?These stock hypereutectic pistons are good for about 410kW (according to GM), you guys are pushing way more than this.  Have you guys had no issues with the stock items?Also, your 2300 kit produces more torque than the stock 6l80 transmission was built for.Have you guys had no issues with the stock transmission?  Do you torque limit in certain gears?Lastly, how much of an increase to the average fuel consumption do you think one would see?

i have a e1 gts ls3 cammed and 3 inch xforce system hiflow cats and varex muffs, if i put a2300 harrop on will it lower the sound of the cam
