Across the European Union countries, an agreement to ban all single-use plastics has been agreed upon and with figures like single plastic bags amounting for 49% of the pollution, no wonder. The UK will have to adhere to any law if a law comes into force before Brexit, but that shouldn't really matter as the UK forged ahead from January 2018 to ban a swath of plastics across the ban in a 25-year plan. Dozens of EU countries will benefit as well as changes needed to be made, but the technology is already out there as are the products, but the effects should be somewhat immediate for the environment.

For example, in the recent months (reports in this channel) has shown, how single use plastic bag bans already has seen dramatic less percentages in pollution in the Mediterranean Sea. Consumers are demanding change and manufacturers are gearing up new and alternative products. Plastics in animals is on the rise from the smallest to the largest and just a few days ago, the first plastics in humans has been noted in a study (nine different kinds) which can be deadly to groups like pregnant women.

So this law can only be good for the environment and the planet.

I'm in favour of banning plastic bags, cutlery etc. Easy to accomplish. The EU and all politicians will be so self satisfied, shoulder tapping, journalists will hail it. Satisfaction all round. Next step: I propose to all activists to look into the tons of plastic toys in every child's nursery. Who will be brave enough to dare?
