Stonehaven: aerial footage shows extent of damage after train derailment

Three people have died after a passenger train derailed near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire following a night of thunderstorms and torrential rainfall. The train’s driver was among the dead and six other people were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.

And at what speed was the train traveling at on a track that the driver knew was suffering from land slips? I would say that 10mph would be max, but you can't fold a train on top of itself at 10mph.

Looks like a lack of maintenance issue to me made worse by sudden downpour.

This horrifying train wreck, was the result of the dilapidated condition of Britain’s rail infrastructure.
Starved for decades of essential maintenance funding, the railways have been transformed by successive governments into state-subsidised cash cows for private corporations.
