But, to be fair to everyone including Levy, wouldn’t it ultimately be *the Director’s* job of making sure his two actors are playing the same role and display the same personality in order to maintain continuity of the character throughout the film?

That is the literally the biggest flaw with Shazam. They don’t match personalities and Zachary cringey acting doesn’t help

It’s actually the Director’s and writer’s problem. You can’t blame Zachary coz the inconsistency is known only by the Director. 😅

The Empire Film Podcast pointed out that their performances are markedly different and it's tough to buy it's the same character. It was okay in the first movie where Billy was getting used to himself. It's a problem in the sequel.

No one likes a buffoon for a superhero.... Except for maybe Deadpool.... But definitely not Shazam.

Billy was more adult than his counterpart in the first film. It's not Zachary fault it's the writers. If the DCEU keeps this franchise 🤞🤞🤞, I hope they can do a soft reboot. I'd hate to see all these actors replaced.

That was my biggest issue with the first movie.

I've always said that Shazam on the big screen is a comedic character versus the actual comic book character. Also the padded suit " physique" seem pretty obvious to me. The first movie was somewhat okay because Billy Batson is a kid who had just discovered he have these amazing powers. I expected his character to be a little more serious in the sequel. Also they need to lose the foster family plot. Gives the movie a Power Ranger cartoonish vibe. I'm just not feeling it. They have to go.

Billy is insecure. But as Shazam, he's more open, because people doesn't know it's him, people won't talk about Billy Batson behind his back, because they think that's not Billy

This is why; you shouldn't make billy a teenager. This whole franchise has been constant ups and downs because of foundational mistakes on all three parts.

In the first film, Angel played Billy as an angry, sad, loner 14yo, obsessed with finding his mom. In the second, Angel played him as an 18yo who loves his found family, but (like many 18yos) is nervous about what happens in adulthood. Levi plays him in both movies as an immature, goody 12 year old. It's less of a problem in the first film, but it's still a problem there. But the second highlights it in both. - teacher at a 6-12 school who often teaches 7th & 12th.

Zachary Levi is starting to come across like a whiner IMO, but if we’re being objective, I actually think his portrayal is the best part of both Shazam 1 and Shazam 2

Watched shazam 2 last night zacs acting was over the top and very cheesy some of the special effects were poor and the deep fake wonder woman didn't look right at all i was bored of the film after the first hour and 20 minutes huge flop for dc
