Actually im dumb i always thought its multiplying to get the 4 insyad if subtracting

this is pissing me off so much, i got the same result as the video but my math textbook says the answer is x=1 and x=3 and when i put the equation into google it ALSO says x=1 and x=3 when the answer is obviously wrong. this is so infuriating. and no it doesn't say x+1=0 and x+3=0 it says x=1 and x=3
