DJI Mavic 2 Pro - Tanker STEN MOSTER Passing YASA SPARROW

Показать описание
Drone flight 863 . January 4th 2019, another early season ship chase with the Mavic 2 Pro on Lough Foyle in Co. Donegal. A grey but otherwise dry day on the lough with light fading fast before local sunset, wind was gusting 10mph as a crosswind. I filmed tanker Sten Moster leaving the Foyle after discharging cargo at the tanker terminal at Lisahally, I used an aperture of F/4, ISO100, cloudy white balance, 1080p, 50 frames/sec in AFC mode. The great thing I like about the Mavic is the different camera perspective, the smaller field of view makes subjects look much closer than they truly are, the difference between this and the P3A is striking, beforehand I had to get as close as possible while being mindful of the 30m IAA proximity regulation which resulted in wide angle close views with slight lens distortion either side of frame from bow to stern. The camera on the Mavic 2 Pro lets me get more detail and makes it look like I'm closer than I really am, which is a benefit for aerial filming.
I noticed as I passed the bow of the tanker the auto focus played up, it seemed to be focused on the bow while the tower and bridge remained out of focus at times, this could be my fault as I may have forgotten to touch focus at the beginning of the video. A cool moment was when the Sten passed the Yasa Sparrow which was still anchored at Moville and undertaking lightening operations, battery was still good so I gave the Yasa another visit to see how she was doing then returned to land. A successful flight, I waited until full darkness then did an exciting night flight out to the Yasa which was lit up beautifully, this will be on a future video coming soon.
