In 1967 I was homeless and hoping to just lie down on the sidewalk and die. I heard this song playing from inside a shop. I stood out front and cried on the sidewalk. 50 years later I still cry over my lost love, but I am happy I made it this far. I love you, people.

Anyone who ever had a heart can understand the magic of Dionne Warwick and the writing team of Bacharach/David !

Karen Carpenter, Dionne Warwick, and Marilyn McCoo when they sing it takes your breath away!

Probably one of the best voices I have ever heard.

1975. taking a bus from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to DC. All the small town stops and authentic folks, on and off, at local stops. So granular. This song speaks to a lost era. No cell phones. Hugging wee ones, gazing out the window, daydreaming...

Dion Warwick - Trains and boats and planes - takes me back, wish I could catch them and go back to the great 60s era.

One of my favourite artists, puts so much feeling into it. Her and Burt made such a beautiful impact on modern music and great partners.

I'd been on Guam for about five months in 1966 when I heard this for the first time. I'm glad none of my fellow bomb loaders could see my face.

What a beautiful melody. Great lyrics as well. Bacharach and David and... Warwick... The perfect communicator for their art... An artist herself...

I think this just might be my very favorite song of hers. That voice just is so perfect for this song... Can't really explain it, but if perfection exists in a song, I think this is it. Keep Singin' Ms. Warwick!
