Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the world's tallest statue on the 143rd birth anniversary of Patel, the first home minister of independent India. Named 'Statue of Unity', at 182 metres, it is almost double the size of the Statue of Liberty in the US.
Meanwhile, an all-out political war has broken ahead of the inauguration of the world's tallest statue, Sardar Patel's gigantic statue of unity. Both Congress and BJP are trying to outdo each other to claim Sardar Patel's legacy. The statue of Unity has strong opposition from certain civil sections of the society including the tribals, ahead of its inauguration.
