New for the 2019 Line up is a reissue of one of my favorite budget Les Pauls - The Paul!

These are the guitars I suggest to everyone who asks me "what Les Paul should I buy" because they are a great value for the money. It is very cool to see this 70s classic get a well deserved proper reissue!

I was pretty pumped to see these get a reissue - they've done the RD, Artisan, L6-S, 335-S, Sparkle Top Deluxes even a tribute to a The Les Paul... but they finally did my favorite budget model!

My dad has an original “The Paul” from ‘79. It’s one of my favorite guitars, and it’s beautiful. So of course, I would rock and of course, I do.

Yes I would Rock ! The body is pretty much the same as a Marauder I owned for decades and now wish I hadn't sold so hastily.

There's something gorgeous about naked wood guitars.

Got excited about the reissue, as i already have a fantastic 1979 example and it's a great player. However, the lack of an ebony board is disappointing. A full review would be nice.

I have an original 1979 with T tops and ebony fretboard. Just got it refretted with a bone nut at 40 years old and Gibson won't beat it now!😁 And yes, I am rocking it!

Had a the Paul back in the day and could not get used to three three way switch being down by the controls instead of the upper bout. Other than that a great guitar, nice to see it's return!

I have an 1979 original and rock it a lot, I would rock this one as well, but I do love my Ebony board!

Absolutely beautiful. When I read the notice, I was hoping to see an ebony fretboard on these. Too bad. But the way rosewood is going it may outpace ebony, price wise. Anyway, glad to see this as a reissue. A definite step in the right direction. I’m sure this is quite “rockable.” Thanks Trogs.

Almost a 2002 LP Special, but with deeper comfort cuts and different switch position. Same pups 490R & 498T.
I was happy with my LP Special, but I had a 2011 LP Studio Faded with full chambering. So I sold the Special.

Yes, do a full review. A side-by-side comp with an original ‘79 (I have one) would be nice!

I had a 98 the paul sl mahogany body and neck with rosewood and dot inlays and the toggle switch in the right place. I just traded it off to get a Roscoe Custom guitar back that I had to sell years back.

Roger Brainerd had an original one of these in Sandy Campbell Music in Valdosta long ago. It was about 400 dollars and I wanted it bad. Never happened. It felt great, played great, and sounded nice.

I would totally rock it. I just love walnut. I have many rifles with super figured walnut stocks also. It is my favorite wood for guns and guitars!!!

Richlite is an unsung hero. Prefer it over ebony if I’m not paying over 3000 dollars because it is very durable and easy maintenance and feels so smooth. Wish they put it on hp models (like studios and tributes) and put it on Vs and explorers

I love the walnut- beautiful wood. I don't like the position of the toggle, it's right where your hand will hit it. I've always liked the flat-top models better than rounded. The pickups I'd switch out for some dragonfire crusaders or seymour duncan
