the Tsukahara off beam is banned due to difficulty the Vaults have been performed safely in international competitions for more than 50 yrs. starting with the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich Germany named for Japanese Gymnast Mitso Tsukahara and there are variations named after Nellie Kim Elena Zamolodchikova and Jaycie Phelps the Variations first done in 1975 1995 and 1999 respectively the Zamolodchikova for ex is a double twisting Tsukahara Zamo as she was Nicknamed won 4 Olympic medals 2 Gold 1 Silver 1 Bronze the three most decorated women in Olympic Gymnastics history are Latynina of Russia 18 medals 9 gold 5 Silver 4 Bronze Biles 11 Medals 7 Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze and Caslavska 11 medals 7 Gold 4 Silver though Biles might try to compete in her 4th Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028 and could still win at least 3 Gold medals and 2 more silver that would be 16 medals 2nd over all 10 Gold 4 Silver 2 Bronze Competing in an Olympics in your home country is always special in modern history only two other Summer Olympics were held in the US LA 1984 and Atlanta 1996 both of which featured a USAG Women's Gymnast winning at least 1 Gold medal Mary Lou Retton individual All Around Gold Los Angeles with an average apparatus score of 9.9 and Shannon Miller Team All Around and Balance Beam Gold 1996
